CCTV Installation in Al Quoz
Dust, heat and high ceilings change the job
A camera kit that works in an office fails early in an Al Quoz warehouse, and it fails for physical reasons. Sand and workshop dust settle on lenses and dome covers. A camera with a dirty dome shows a milky blur at night, because its own infrared bounces back off the dirt. Roof spaces under a metal sheet reach temperatures that cook a recorder left on a mezzanine shelf. Forklifts clip anything mounted low on a column. So we specify differently here. Outdoor rated housings go on indoor units in dusty bays. Bullet cameras replace domes where fine dust is constant. Mounts sit on the steel above forklift height. The recorder lives in the air conditioned office with its own small UPS, not in the roof space where the heat collects.

Then there is the scale of the floor. Racking aisles are long and narrow. A camera at the end of each aisle with a varifocal lens beats a wide angle dome in the middle. The dome shows everything and identifies nothing. Loading doors are the hardest spot on any site: bright daylight outside, shade inside, and a truck reversing into the frame. Cameras there need a sensor that copes with strong backlight, and a position that looks along the dock rather than into the sun. Open yards need infrared reach or a lit area, and cable distances that exceed what a single PoE run allows. We plan those runs with PoE extenders or a sealed switch box at the yard edge, not a cable stretched past its limit.
Showrooms and studios are the other side of the district and want the opposite treatment. A car showroom or tile trade counter wants small, tidy cameras over the entrance, the desk and the display floor. Recording there is set to capture faces at the door at head height. The galleries and workshops around Alserkal Avenue want cameras that protect equipment and artwork without turning a creative space into a car park. In both cases the recorder is sized for thirty days. Motion zones are drawn so a passing truck does not fill your phone with alerts. The export process is shown to whoever will need it after an incident.

On the day
What happens on a typical visit in Al Quoz
Industrial sites are surveyed before they are quoted, because the building decides the camera list. A typical install day in a warehouse unit runs like this.
- 01
Gate in at shift start
We arrive when your gate opens, sign in with security if the plot has it, and meet the warehouse supervisor. The camera positions agreed at the survey are marked on the racking and columns with the supervisor present, so nothing blocks a forklift lane.
- 02
Cable along the steel
Cat6 is run in conduit or on the existing cable tray along purlins and columns, never loose across the floor or draped over racking. Long yard runs get an extender or a sealed switch box. Every run is tested for length and signal before a camera goes on it.
- 03
Mount above forklift height
Cameras go up on brackets bolted to the structure, angled at the survey positions, with dome covers wiped and sealed. At loading doors we test the view with the door open in daylight to confirm faces and plates are readable against the glare.
- 04
Recorder in the cool office
The NVR is installed in the air conditioned office or a ventilated cabinet, never on the mezzanine, with a UPS to ride power blips. Storage is set for the retention agreed, streams are tuned so thirty days fit, and the time is synced to a network clock.
- 05
Night walk and handover
We come back after dark or wait for it and walk the yard and the bays. Each camera's night image is checked for glare and blind spots. Then the supervisor and owner get the phone app, learn to export a clip, and receive a camera map for the file.

Fit check
Is this right for you?
A quick way to see whether CCTV Installation is the right call for your Al Quoz premises, or whether another of our services fits better.
A good fit when
- A warehouse or workshop with racking, loading doors and an open yard to cover.
- A showroom or trade counter that wants faces at the door and the desk on record.
- Existing cameras that show white glare at night or drop out in the heat.
- A studio or gallery that needs discreet cameras over equipment and stock.
Better handled by another service when
- You need staff attendance or door access rather than cameras. Access Control and biometric attendance are separate services.
- Your cameras record fine but the recorder is full or the app stopped. IP Camera, NVR and DVR Setup covers that repair.
Questions from Al Quoz clients
CCTV Installation in Al Quoz: Your Questions Answered
The questions we hear most often from Al Quoz clients before they book. If yours is not here, call or WhatsApp and ask.
Our dust is constant. How often will the cameras need cleaning?
It depends on the bay. Units near a cutting or spraying area may need a lens wipe every month, while a clean storage warehouse can go much longer. We choose bullet housings with hoods where dust is heavy, because they collect less on the glass than domes. We also show your staff how to clean without scratching.
The warehouse has no air conditioning outside the office. Where does the recorder go?
In the office, on a shelf or in a small wall cabinet, with cable run back from the floor. Recorders and hard drives shorten their life quickly in a hot roof space. If there is no office, we use a ventilated lockable cabinet with a fan in the coolest spot. Drive temperature is then monitored.
Can the gate camera read truck plates coming in from the sun side?
Usually, if the camera is placed for it. Plate reading needs a narrow view, a fast shutter and a mounting angle that avoids headlights and low sun. We set a dedicated camera at the gate for plates and a second wider one for the vehicle and driver. One camera doing both does neither well.
Can our yard cameras run from the same recorder as the indoor ones when the yard is far away?
Yes, that is normal. Distance is a cabling question, not a recorder question. Where a run passes the length one network cable supports, we add a PoE extender. For bigger yards a small outdoor switch sits in a sealed enclosure at the yard edge. Fibre is the answer for very long runs between buildings on one plot.
We share the plot with two other tenants. Can they see our cameras?
They cannot. Your cameras sit on your own recorder and your own network, separate from any shared building system. If the landlord runs cameras over the common yard, those stay theirs. Only the phone accounts you approve can view or export your footage, and we remove the installer account before we leave.
Do you cover a small Alserkal studio or is this warehouses only?
Both. Studios and galleries get a lighter version of the same work. A few compact cameras cover the door, the equipment store and the display space. A small recorder sits in a cupboard and the owner gets phone viewing. The engineering is the same, the cameras just get smaller and quieter.
