CCTV Installation in Dubai Marina
Salt air, landlords and a tower with its own rules
Three things make Marina camera work different from a villa or a warehouse job. The first is the building. A tower has its own management, a security office and written rules about what a tenant may fix to walls and balconies. Cameras that look at a corridor, a lift lobby or a neighbour's balcony are not yours to install, and building management will say so. We keep every camera pointed at your own front door, your own interior and your own outdoor space. The approval request goes in writing before the visit, with the positions marked on a plan. Approval tends to come faster when management can see exactly where each unit points. When a tower refuses a position, there is usually a reason we can design around, such as moving the camera inside the door.

The second is the lease. Many Marina flats are rented, and a landlord who finds drilled holes in a marble wall at check out will deduct for them. So inside a rented flat we work without a drill wherever we can. Cameras go on adhesive plates rated for the weight, on clamp mounts over a door frame, or on a small stand in a corner. Power runs along the skirting in white trunking held with adhesive, or the camera is a battery unit that charges from a USB socket. For the balcony we use a rail clamp rather than a wall fixing. Everything comes off at the end of the tenancy without a mark, and the deposit stays where it belongs.
The third is the sea. Balconies facing the water take salt spray and humid air every day. A cheap steel bracket rusts quickly and stains the wall beneath it. Outdoor units here get stainless brackets, sealed cable glands and a housing rated for wet weather. Connectors sit inside a sealed box rather than dangling in the air. Shops along the promenade and on JBR face the same air plus the glare of a sea facing entrance in the afternoon. The door camera is chosen for backlight and positioned to read faces against the bright walkway behind them. A till camera inside then does the identification work in even light.

On the day
What happens on a typical visit in Dubai Marina
A high floor flat and a promenade cafe follow the same order of work, one that respects the building and the lease.
- 01
Approval in hand first
We do not book the drilling day until building management has approved the camera positions in writing. You send the request with our plan attached, or we draft it for you. Security at the tower then knows we are coming, and parking and the service lift are arranged.
- 02
Plan around the lease
Inside the flat we agree with you which surfaces can be touched. Owned apartments can take a proper fixing and a hidden cable. Rented ones get clamp and adhesive mounts with trunking along the skirting. Cameras are placed where the view is right without a hole in the wall.
- 03
Salt rated fittings outside
Balcony and terrace cameras go up on stainless brackets with sealed glands, angled to cover your own space and nothing beyond it. Cable joints sit in a sealed junction box out of the spray. We check the view does not include a neighbour before tightening anything.
- 04
Shop floor before opening
For a cafe or boutique we work before trading starts or after closing, covering the door, the till and the stock area. The recorder goes in a locked cupboard, and the door camera is tested against the afternoon glare from the promenade so faces stay readable.
- 05
Phone app, then keys back
We set up the phone app for the people you name and show you how to save a clip. Recording is confirmed running for the retention agreed. Then the floor is cleaned, the packaging goes with us, and building security gets a note that the work is complete.

Fit check
Is this right for you?
A quick way to see whether CCTV Installation is the right call for your Dubai Marina premises, or whether another of our services fits better.
A good fit when
- A rented apartment where the landlord will not allow holes in the walls.
- A balcony or terrace camera that has rusted or fogged within a year of fitting.
- A cafe, salon or boutique on the promenade with a till and a stockroom to watch.
- A home office in a tower that holds client files and expensive equipment.
Better handled by another service when
- You want a video doorbell and Smart Door Lock rather than cameras. Those are a separate service.
- The building's own corridor cameras are the problem. Those belong to building management, and only they can have them repaired.
Questions from Dubai Marina clients
CCTV Installation in Dubai Marina: Your Questions Answered
The questions we hear most often from Dubai Marina clients before they book. If yours is not here, call or WhatsApp and ask.
Will the building management even let me put a camera outside my front door?
Often yes, if the camera looks at your door and not down the corridor. Corridors are common areas and the building's own cameras cover them. We propose a compact unit above your door, angled down at the threshold, and put it on the approval request with a photo. If management refuses, an indoor camera facing the door from inside does most of the same job.
I rent. What happens to the cameras when I move out?
They come with you. Every mount we use in a rented flat is chosen to remove cleanly. Adhesive plates peel off with heat, clamps unscrew and trunking lifts away. We can reinstall the same kit at your next address for a flat rate, and the landlord finds the walls as they were.
My balcony camera fogs up every morning. Why?
Humid sea air condenses on a cold lens overnight and clears as the sun warms it. Cheaper cameras also let moisture inside the housing, which never clears. We fit housings with proper seals and, where the fogging is bad, a unit with a heated lens window. A hood also keeps spray off the glass.
Can the shop camera see faces when the promenade behind the door is so bright?
Yes, if the camera is chosen and placed for it. A door camera facing a bright walkway needs a sensor that handles strong backlight. We mount it slightly to one side so the customer's face is lit from the shop, not silhouetted. Then we test it at the brightest part of the afternoon before we sign off.
Does a camera pointed at my balcony break any privacy rule?
Not if it stays on your own space. Privacy is taken seriously here. A camera that captures a neighbour's balcony, a pool deck or a public walkway can bring a complaint through building management. We angle balcony cameras down at your own rail and floor and confirm the view on screen before fixing anything.
Do you need Wi-Fi from my router or do cameras need cables?
Either works, and we usually mix them. In a rented flat, small Wi-Fi cameras avoid cable runs entirely as long as the router reaches them at full strength. For a shop, the door and till cameras run on cable to a small recorder because they must never drop. We test the Wi-Fi signal at each camera spot before deciding.
